TABLES OF BELONGING

A reflection on a world where food is always available — fast, effortless, and endless — reveals how, in that ease, we have lost touch with its emotional weight.
When eating becomes easy, it also becomes careless.
We grow spoiled and lazy, our standards lower, and meals turn mediocre.

This project is a response to that loss. It is a reminder to slow down, to taste, to remember,
and to honour food not just as nourishment, but as experience and pleasure.
Food is memory. It is comfort, connection, and identity, who we are when no one is watching.
These photographs explore the meals that keep us tethered to where we come from, and
the people we become when we sit down to eat. A simple dish can hold an entire life within it:
the ache of distance, the safety of familiarity, the quiet joy of being seen.
